Install

  1. Open Hansel-0.1.1-build9.dmg and drag Hansel to Applications, or unzip Hansel-0.1.1-build9.zip and move Hansel.app to Applications.
  2. Open Hansel and sign in to your Grimmory server. There is no separate ABEANT account.
  3. To uninstall, quit Hansel and move /Applications/Hansel.app to Trash. Preferences and ~/Library/Application Support/com.abeant.hansel stay on this Mac.
  4. Builds 7 and 8 receive build 9 through Check for Updates. Build 9 and later read https://updates.abeant.com/hansel/appcast.xml.

KOReader 2024.12 or newer, on a device whose KOReader build loads plugins. A computer that is not running KOReader cannot install this package by opening it.

Install

  1. Unzip hansel.koplugin.zip into KOReader's plugins folder so plugins/hansel.koplugin/_meta.lua exists.
  2. Restart KOReader. Enable Hansel under Tools, More tools, Plugin management if it is off.
  3. Open Tools, Hansel, Show library and enter the Grimmory URL, username, and password you already use.
  4. KOReader 2024.12 or newer with plugin support. The plugin documentation records a test on a BOOX Nova Air running Android 10 and lists Android, Kobo, Kindle, PocketBook, and reMarkable among devices that can load KOReader plugins.
  5. To update, quit KOReader, replace the plugins/hansel.koplugin folder, and restart. Keep KOReader settings and Hansel data. The plugin documentation does not describe a separate removal procedure.
